Nuclear medicine is a medical discipline that uses radioactive substances, called radiopharmaceuticals, to diagnose and treat diseases. Nuclear medicine methods are safe and painless. They can detect disease at an early stage, much earlier than other tests or imaging methods.
Information for physicians The information provided is indicative of organ function and morphology, pathological deposits and metabolism.
At the department we investigate on two two-detector gamma cameras, namely:
SPECT GE NM 830 ES – a new gamacamera, installed in 10/2021, which allows us to obtain even better diagnostic results from the examinations performed.
SPECT GE Sopha DST – XLi

The staff's years of experience in the field of nuclear medicine are reflected daily in the professional approach of the entire staff. Examinations and the entire course from the patient's admission to his diagnosis is provided by a team led by MUDr. Peter Polačko.
